To get a career mentor you must:

  • Be an international citizen
  • Live in Odense
  • Plan to stay in Denmark for at least one year
  • Speak either English or Danish
  • Be unemployed or hold a position which does not match your qualifications
  • Be actively applying for jobs
  • Have attended a job search seminar*

Even though it is free to participate in the host programme, we spend time and money on finding and preparing the volunteer hosts. It is therefore very important that you consider whether you can set aside the time and effort that is required to participate in the programme before signing up.

Specifically, you have to be able to meet with your host 1-2 times every month during a period of six months and possibly spend time on assignments in between meetings.

*If you have not yet attended a job search seminar then Workindenmark holds them regularly (go to Workindenmark's website). It is possible to get enrolled in Odense Host Programme without having attended a job seminar, but you will not be given a host until after you have attended the job seminar.
