As a foreigner working in Denmark, you can receive child benefits provided that you meet the following criteria:
- You share custody of the child
- You can document that you are related to the child
- You are a citizen of an EU country, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, or Lichtenstein, if your child does not live in Denmark.
In addition, you must have worked or lived in Denmark for a certain period within the past 10 years. Please see the requirements here.
Benefits are paid out four times a year.
